About The Author

A first-time author with the heart of a storyteller, John brings nearly forty years of experience as a professional adventure guide to the page. Throughout his career, he led teenagers and adults alike through transformative outdoor experiences – journeys that challenged, inspired, and often changed the lives of those who traveled with him.

For the final thirteen years of his career, he served as both teacher and guide in an acclaimed middle-school program known as Adventure Education, a class celebrated for its introspective approach to learning and personal growth. His work there shaped hundreds of young minds and deepened his belief in the power of nature, resilience, and authentic human connection.

He now lives on the Cape with his wife, Sherri. His son, daughter-in-law, and grandson live nearby, and he remains closely connected to many of his former students, whose journeys continue to inspire him.
